I use it to plan my observing sessions. There are limitations to how faint a star mine displays but I haven't downloaded the larger star catalogues.

Best:

Features: Set date and time.
Shows Moons planets ring presentation.
Trans its of Moons.
Phase of Moon
Constellations , stars, Messier
I have had no trouble with OS Win98, XP and Vista.

Worst:

Must install StarCalc folder on C: drive or it may lock up.
Be sure to copy the catalogues in same folder.
